📸 We were filming on the outmost reef break when this wave caught us by surprise. The jetski went right, out of frame. The dinghy was already was on a trajectory to the inside. James caught them on camera almost by accident as the wave loomed up behind and started to break.

🔈 ‘Small Craft Warning’ is an alt/rock/world production written and produced by James O’Connor, Luis Sanches, Kiwan Landreth Smith, Chas Sheppard and Sharda Patasar. The album was released in 2020 during a period of transition for everyone – especially James who was moving with his family from Trinidad to Canada. Writer and friend, Hugh Blanc generously offered to moderate a discussion about the genesis and evolution of the material that went into Comma Echo’s first album.

🎬 Captured by Sharon Burford on her phone, this recently discovered rendition of ‘Gravity’ comes from the garden at Ajoupa in Trinidad where James was surrounded by family and friends. We are singing under the stars on the deck of cedar house built 150 years ago and the harmonies are mind-blowing. To have so many people know the words, sing along and harmonize on the spot is just amazing! …were you there?

📎 We recently started recording our rehearsal room so we could listen back to the decisions we made when writing and arranging a song. Then we added a camera so we could review our chord shapes (it’s easier than writing everything down). We shared the results with a couple of friends and they asked us for more so… the greenroom is where you can find it all from rehearsals to exclusives.
